Máster Universitario en Visión Artificial

We are looking for proactive persons with good communicative skills and interest in Computer Science and Computer Vision to work in the following research line:

Augmented and Virtual Reality applications of 3D point clouds

Type of contract:

Duration: 6 month-trial period, extendable up-to 3 years (enrolment in a PhD programme)

Location: University of Vigo.

Gross monthly salary: 1.450 EUR

Requirements and profile of the candidates:

Candidates must hold a MSc degree in – preferably but not exclusively- Engineering (Electrical, Electronic, Telecommunication, Geomatics, …), Computer Science, Computer Graphics, Physics, Mathematics.

We value good communication skills and programming skills

Selection:

The selective process will consist in two stages: 1st) evaluation of CV, experience and capabilities of the candidates, and 2nd) a personal interview of preselected candidates.

Resumen del puesto:

Estamos buscando un perfil en prácticas para el área de i+d y proyectos. El puesto se dividiría entre la realización de estados del arte e implementación de pruebas de concepto en diversas áreas de la Inteligencia Artificial, especialmente la visión artificial (clasificación, detección, segmentación, tracking, 3D…), y la puesta en marcha de pilotos y proyectos con clientes reales.

La investigación estará motivada por los problemas llegados de negocio y por las áreas en las que deseemos expandir nuestro conocimiento.

La persona buscada debe de tener interés en las nuevas tecnologías, lectura de papers, prueba de los últimos algoritmos existentes y solución teórica/práctica de problemas reales.

El perfil deseado es el de un candidato proactivo.

Existe la posibilidad de compaginar el trabajo con el TFM.

Requisitos:

• Buenas prácticas de programación en Python.
• Conocimiento del flujo de un proyecto/modelo de Deep Learning/Data Science.
• Conocimiento de frameworks de redes neuronales (Tensorflow/Pytorch).
• Conocimiento de paquetes de visión OpenCV, Scikit-Image, Pillow…
• Conocimiento de paquetes de tratamientos de datos: pandas, numpy, scikit-learn…
• Uso de GPU para entrenamiento (CUDA).
• Git/Github.

Requisitos deseados:

• Linux.
• AWS, GCP, AZURE…
• Alto nivel de inglés.
• Conocimiento en Data Science y NLP.

I have an excellent opportunity for a graduate or master student in my lab at the Faculty of Physics in the UCM. The work will be about methods development in structural biology with a prime emphasis in cryo-EM and machine learning. I think it could be a perfect opportunity for someone willing to do a master thesis (especially in the master of ‘nuevas tecnologías electrónicas y fotónicas https://www.ucm.es/master-electronicayfotonica or the master of física biomédica https://www.ucm.es/masterfisicabiomedica/fisica-biomedica) supervised by me and at the same time gain experience in cryo-EM, image processing and deep learning. However, someone currently doing the master could be considered as well.

I think it is a perfect opportunity for someone that wants to give a try in research with a focus on cryo-EM methods development and that could be interested in doing a PhD after. Thus,  good qualifications and motivation towards research is required. In addition, it would be good to be attracted by matlab/python programming, image processing/machine learning and structural biology.

I offer one year of contract with a competitive salary and working in awesome image processing and machine learning methods.
